Lady Bulldogs win four over the weekend
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs took two games from Southeast Arkansas on Friday and two games from Lamar State College-Port Arthur on Saturday.
Holmes returns to action on Wednesday in Baton Rouge at 2/4 p.m.
Against Southeast Arkansas, the Lady Bulldogs won 12-4 and 19-5. In game one, Presley Scarbrough went the distance and picked up the win. Karly Garner and Megan Brewer each had three hits with Brewer adding a three-run homerun. Tashika Carothers, Kamiyah Stephens and Lennie Kate Wood each had two hits with Carothers adding a solo homerun and a double.
In game two, Avery Smith picked up the win. Hayley Pascal also pitched in the game. McKenzie Blue, Alyssa Sockey, Allie Henderson and Miley Billie each had two hits with Henderson having two doubles and Wood adding one while Billie added two triples and Blue had one. Garner and Brewer also had a double.
Against Lamar State, the Lady Bulldogs won 5-4 and 3-2 in walk off fashion. Scarbrough picked up the win going seven innings. Sockey led with three hits including a triple. Brewer and Garner each had solo homeruns in the game.
In game two, Pascal went the distance and picked up the win. Stephens led with two hits. Wood stole home on the final play for the win.
Holmes split with Marion, 1-0 and fell 15-4 on Monday. In game one, Josie Azlin had a no-hitter in seven innings to pick up the win. Emma Fabre led with three hits while Billie and Blue adding two.
In game two, Smith got the start and suffered the loss. Pascal and Mauhree Jones also pitched in the game. Sockey and Carothers each had two hits with Carothers having two doubles.
