Givens named MACJC Defensive Player of the Week

Holmes Community College freshman defensive back Kris Givens of Ridgeland has been named the MACJC/JucoWeekly Defensive Player of the Week for Week Three after his two interception performance on Thursday versus Northeast Mississippi Community in Madison at Madison Central High School. The Bulldogs won the game 34-14 and went to 1-0 in the North Division.

Givens intercepted former Bulldog Nolan Genovese at the Bulldog 26 and raced basically untouched for the 76-yard touchdown in the second quarter. He then picked off Matt Lipham in the second half giving him four inteceptions on the season. He had one versus Jones County Junior College in the season opener and one versus Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in the second game of the season.
