Bulldogs get third straight non-division win to open the season

WESSON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldog basketball team went to 3-0 on the season here Thursday night after winning its third straight non-division game to open the 2011 campaign, 66-52, over the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves.

Holmes will host the East Central Community College Warriors Monday night at 8 p.m. in Frank Branch Coliseum. The game can be seen at www.holmesathletics.ihigh.com.

The Bulldogs trailed the Wolves 29-27 at halftime but retook the lead at led 44-34 with 12 minutes to go in the game. A Demarcus Lewis slam put the Bulldogs up by 18 with 6:30 to play before the Wolves drew the score closer before the final whistle blew.

DeAndre Scott led the Bulldogs with 16 points while Deangelo Priar and Torrance Rowe each had 14.
