Bulldogs complete sweep of Mississippi Delta winning 68-62
MOORHEAD --- Mississippi Delta held a three-point lead at halftime and six-point lead with 5:30 to play in the game before the Holmes Community College Bulldogs took the lead with 1:50 left and went on to win 68-62.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 15-6 overall and 7-3 in the North. The Bulldogs will be home Thursday in their final regular season home game against Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Delta led 33-30 at halftime. The Bulldogs battled back and took their first lead at 40-39 with 16:20 to play in the game on a bucket from Kenitric Gillum. Delta took the 43-42 lead with 14:33 to play and increased the lead to five at 49-44 with 12:36 to play.
A DeAndre Scott three-pointer with 9:59 to play tied the game at 51. After swapping leads, Delta went up 60-54 with 5:20 to go. It was the Bulldogs the rest of the way. Steals and buckets by Deangelo Priar and Gillum sealed the game with two minutes to play.
Priar led with 16 points while DeAndre Scott had 15 and Torrance Rowe had 13. Priar led in rebounds with 8 while Demarcus Lewis had six.
