RIDGELAND --- The No. 4 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a huge MACCC win here 2-1 over No. 2 Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Holmes moves to 12-1 and 7-1 in the MACCC.
Brooklynn Samonski scored both goals in the game for the Lady Bulldogs. She scored the first goal on an assist from Emma Korhonen in the 24th minute. She added her second goal in the 53rd minute on an assist from Tyler Grace Sims.
Lilly Callum got the start for the Lady Bulldogs and played 45 minutes with four saves. Aly Vancor played the final 45 and had four saves and gave up one goal.
Against No. 5 Jones last Friday, the Lady Bulldogs won 2-1.
Zion Causey scored in the 40th minute on an assist from Korhonen. Jones scored in the 66th minute. Sims gave the Lady Bulldogs the lead in the 86th minute on an assist from Brenna Sanford.
Callum and Vancor both had two saves in 45 minutes. Callum gave up the goal.
